You’ve got questions, we’ve got answers!
Which airport should I fly into?
The closest airports are Great Falls International Airport (GTF) and Helena Regional Airport (HNL), which are approximately 30-40 minutes drive away. Many guests also fly into Missoula International Airport (MSO) and Bozeman Yellowstone International Airport (BZN), which are both slightly over 2 hours away.
Do you provide transportation from the airport?
Due to our small staff, we do not have a regular shuttle service available. We recommend that guests rent a car, especially if you are fishing the Log G area during your trip. Car rental is often less expensive than a shuttle, and gives you the flexibility to see other area highlights. Planning your ground transportation in advance is very important. Here are some options for ground transportation from area airports.
Bozeman
Great Falls
Helena
What are your check-in/out times?
Generally, check-in: 4pm & check-out: 10am. Please call the lodge in advance to inquire about alternative arrangements.
How many people can stay in a room?
All rooms can comfortably sleep 2 adults and 1 child or variations thereof (max 2 adults per room). We’re happy to help accommodate larger families – call to arrange. Lodge can accommodate a total of 8-16 adults.
Are children welcome?
Absolutely!
Can I bring my pet?
We do not currently accept pets. At a future date, we plan to make kennels available.
Do you have WiFi / cell service?
Yes we do! We have WiFi access in our Tavern, Caddis Shack and Lodging buildings. Please keep in mind that we are in a rural area and surrounded by towering canyon mountains. Cell service can be spotty, but we have the best wifi available for our location.
Do you require a deposit?
A 50% deposit is required to book lodging and angling. Refunds require 90-day notice prior to arrival date. We highly recommend purchasing “cancel for any reason” trip insurance. For full terms and conditions, see the bottom of our booking page.
Do you take credit cards?
Yes! We take all major credit cards at no additional charge to you.
What’s your fishing season?
Unlike many areas in Montana, the Missouri River offers fishing opportunities for most of the year. The primary fishing season is between April and October. Our Lodge is open April 1 – Oct 31.
What if I’m not fishing with my group?
You’re welcome to stay, experience the river, wildlife, scenery and rich history our area has to offer. You’ll have an opportunity to learn more about this amazing sport during your stay as well!
Are outside outfitters and guides welcome?
Yes! Not only are they welcome, they enjoy much of the same privileges and services as our in-house outfitter.
What equipment do I need to bring for fishing?
If you are fishing with our in-house outfitter all of your basic equipment (rod/reel/boat/etc.) will be provided as a part of your package. You are always welcome to bring your own equipment, and should bring weather appropriate clothing. Beginners have a great time just bringing themselves, while our more experienced fishermen often prefer to bring their favorite equipment. You will need a Montana Fishing license, and you can get one here: MT Fishing License
Can I dine with you if I’m not staying overnight?
Yes, if we have availability, you are welcome to make a reservation for our Anglers’ Table dinners, or upon referral by an outfitter/guide. Please note that during the season, we are often full. If you are interested, please inquire via email: [email protected].
Can I just drop in for a drink or meal?
No. We are a small private lodge, dining and event facility. Due to our limited seating, we require reservations. Please email us at [email protected] to inquire about availability.
Can you accommodate guests with Celiac disease, gluten intolerance, other dietary restrictions?
Yes! We are familiar with a number of dietary restrictions/cross contamination concerns, and are happy to accommodate your needs to the best of our ability. As we have a chef’s choice menu, we require that you call ahead of your visit to discuss any needed alterations.
Can I bring my own alcohol?
No. Montana State Law prohibits personal alcohol in licensed establishments. We have a full beverage license and stock a variety of quality reasonably priced beer, wine and spirits.
Can I rent the facility for my own special event?
Yes! You can rent all or part of the facility for your event, serving outfitter/guide referrals. Give us a call to start planning your event today! Some restrictions apply.
How do I find out about events, such as discovery or clinic dinners?
The best way to keep up with all the happenings at Hidden Canyon Lodge is to get on our mailing list (email [email protected] to be added) or follow us on Facebook or Instagram.
Do I have to stay overnight to rent the facility?
No. We are available to host daytime events as well. Some restrictions apply.
