Frequently Asked Questions

You’ve got questions, we’ve got answers!

Which airport should I fly into?
The closest airports are Great Falls International Airport (GTF) and Helena Regional Airport (HNL), which are approximately 30-40 minutes drive away. Many guests also fly into Missoula International Airport (MSO) and Bozeman Yellowstone International Airport (BZN), which are both slightly over 2 hours away.

Do you provide transportation from the airport?
We recommend that guests rent a car when booking their air travel. Planning your ground transportation in advance is important. Often, a car rental is less expensive than a shuttle and it gives you the flexibility to see many other area highlights.

What are your check-in/out times?
Generally, check-in: 4pm & check-out: 11am.

How many people can stay in a room?
All rooms can comfortably sleep 2 adults and 1 child or variations thereof (max 2 adults per room). We’re happy to help accommodate larger families – call to arrange. Lodge can accommodate a total of 8-16 adults.

Are children welcome?

Can I bring my pet?
As we are a newly renovated facility, we do not currently accept pets. At a future date, we plan to make kennels available.

Do you have WiFi?
Yes! We have WiFi access in both our tavern and lodge buildings.

Do you require a deposit?
A 50% deposit is required for lodging and angling. Please see our packages for deposit and cancellation policies.

Do you take credit cards?
Yes! We take all major credit cards at no additional charge to you.

What’s your fishing season?
We’re lucky to be able to fish the Missouri most of the year, but the main season is between March and October.

What if I’m not fishing?
You’re welcome to stay, experience the river, wildlife, scenery and rich history our area has to offer. You’ll have an opportunity to learn more about this amazing sport during your stay as well!

Are outside outfitters and guides welcome?
Yes! Not only are they welcome, they enjoy much of the same privileges and services as our in-house outfitter. Please contact us for details on our outfitter program.

What equipment do I need to bring for fishing?
If you are fishing with our in-house outfitter all of your basic equipment (rod/reel/boat/etc.) will be provided as a part of your package. You are always welcome to bring your own equipment, and should bring weather appropriate clothing. Beginners have a great time just bringing themselves, while our more experienced fishermen often prefer to bring all their own equipment.

Can I dine in with you if I’m not staying overnight?
Yes, if we have availability, you are welcome to make a reservation for our Anglers’ Table or our Discovery or Clinic dinners. Please note that during the season, we are often full. If you are interested, please inquire via email: [email protected]

Can I just drop in for a drink or meal?
No. We are a small private lodge, dining and event facility. Due to our limited seating, we require reservations. We welcome you to join our Anglers’ Table or our Discovery or Clinic Dinners. Please email us at [email protected] to request your reservations.

Can you accommodate guests with Celiac disease, gluten intolerance, other dietary restrictions?
Yes! We are familiar with a number of dietary restrictions/cross contamination concerns, and are happy to accommodate your needs to the best of our ability. As we have a chef’s choice menu, we require that you call ahead of your visit to discuss any needed alterations.

Can I bring my own alcohol?
No. We have a full beverage license and stock a variety of quality reasonably priced beer, wine and spirits.

Do you host special events?
Yes! We plan special events ourselves throughout the year such as fly fishing dinners, holiday brunches, game day gatherings, and concerts. Some restrictions apply.

Can I rent the facility for my own special event?
Yes! You can rent all or part of the facility for your event. Give us a call to start planning your event today! Some restrictions apply.

How do I find out about events, such as discovery or clinic dinners?
The best way to keep up with all the happenings at Hidden Canyon Lodge is to get on our mailing list (email [email protected] to be added) or follow us on Facebook.

Do I have to stay overnight to rent the facility?
No. We are available to host daytime events as well.
