HIDDEN CANYON LODGE

Hidden Canyon Lodge is nestled in a small canyon with spectacular views of the Missouri River. You can walk in the footsteps of Lewis and Clark along the river’s edge or take a quick stroll over to the bridge from the movie “The Untouchables.” Spot wildlife such as soaring eagles, deer, the occasional black bear in the fall, and local bighorn sheep that frequent the area. We welcome you to one of the country’s most prolific dry fly fisheries, located in a premier location along the world-renowned Blue Ribbon fishery of the Missouri River.

FLY FISHING IN MONTANA

Abundant numbers of rainbow and brown trout (30-year mean of about 3,036 per mile) offer every level of angler an opportunity to create memories that last a lifetime. Whether climbing in a jet boat to take on the famous “Land of the Giants” or dry fly casting from a drift boat, a great fishing adventure is a can’t-miss experience. BACK AT THE LODGE

After a day of outdoor adventure, guests return to our enchanting lodge, originally built in the early 1900s. Gather with friends and family by the bar to enjoy snacks and house drinks during cocktail hour. Get cozy in a leather chair by the fireplace. Sit on our front deck by the firepit and watch the Mighty Mo flow. Want a quieter spot? Listen to the sounds of nature all around in our screened-in Caddis Shack, stocked with comfortable seating, games and fire features.

Luxurious sleeping accommodations include eight private rooms, each built with an attention to detail. Your comfort is the primary focus, from bedding to heated tile floors, instant hot water showers/sinks, individual heating and air-conditioning, individual Keurig coffee machines, charging stations, and decks overlooking the amazing scenery. So, take a hot shower, grab a cup of coffee, sit out on the deck, and drink in the surrounding views as you get ready to experience some of the best Montana has to offer.

ABOUT THE OWNERS

Our owner, Peter Wooldridge, first discovered fly fishing in the waters surrounding Hidden Canyon Lodge while living in Montana. Although he has taken his love for fly fishing all over the world, he returns to the canyon area year after year. Peter and his wife, Patricia, are now happy to combine that love of fly fishing and travel to offer a uniquely Montana experience on the Missouri River.
